This is a really good selection of Christmas-themed American TV comedy / comedy drama. As I don't have cable (I live in the UK) I'd never before seen The Office, Psych and 30 Rock but this selection is all the more refreshing for that. There isn't a weak episode among them.
This would make a great Christmas present for anyone who enjoys quality TV as there are no schmaltzy Christmas episodes. If you're looking for Christmas specials from the 60s and 70s/80s I heartily recommend Merry Sitcom!: Christmas Classics From TV's Golden Age [DVD] and TV Sets: Holiday Treats [DVD] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC].
Not very Christmasy
Christmas collections of TV shows like this are among my favorite DVDs out there, but this collection is lacking primarily because only "The Office" (which is without a doubt the strongest of the five shows here) and "30 Rock" truly are Christmas-themed. The other three merely mention Christmas as a backdrop to an otherwise-standard plot.
Nobody buys collections like these because they just want to see these shows that much. If you just wanted to see typical episodes, you could watch whole seasons on DVD. These collections are put together for people like me who are looking for holiday fixes.
By the way, I have no idea how "Psych" ever got popular, if this is a typical example. Full of overacting, it seems more cut out for a Saturday morning series in 1992 than anything on prime time.
